Omega: Omega II System

If you are already an expert at Level 1 card counting methods like Knock Out Blackjack and the Hi-Lo counting system then you may be ready to move on to a more advanced method of card counting. The Omega II card counting system is a Level 2 card counting method. It is slightly more difficult than Level 1 systems, but will allow you to get a much more accurate count to help you excel at blackjack. Made popular by Bryce Carlson's book Blackjack for Blood, the Omega II system has been tested and proven to be 99% efficient!

The Omega II system is a balanced system of card counting, meaning that counting an entire 52-card deck would result in a final count of 0. As with other card counting systems, a negative count puts the house at an edge with more low cards in the deck and a positive count puts the player at an advantage with more high cards remaining in the deck.

Because it is a Level 2 system, Omega II makes the count slightly more difficult by adding values of -2 and +2 into the mix. 2s, 3s and 7s are counted as +1. 4s, 5s and 6s are counted as +2. 9s are counted as -1. 10s, Jacks, Queens and Kings are counted as -2. 8s and Aces are counted as 0. As the Ace is not accounted for in this system, many card counters opt to keep a side count of Aces as well.

If you are used to simpler Level 1 systems that assign values of -1, 0 and +1 don't be scared away. Sure, it will take a little bit of practice to learn the Omega II card counting system effectively, but once you do your winnings will be well worth the time you spent learning!
